Alloy Steel / Adamite Rolls

Drag to turn

These rolls are specially alloyed with nickel, chromium or molybdenum. The extra carbon and special alloys give them extra wear resistance and strength.

They are statically cast, then undergo a special high-temperature heat treatment: a double annealing, followed by a tempering cycle. This produces a microstructure of good pearlitic matrix with spheroidised, broken carbide.

Double annealing and tempering produce a tough pearlitic matrix with spheroidised carbide.
